Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rodney Derek (ranked 3956 p4p, 3775 weight class) and Rhys Cadwgan (ranked 271 p4p, 260 weight class). Cadwgan has chosen Squeeze the Fruit - The Commodores as his entrance music. Rodney Derek has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rhys Cadwgan!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Daniel Franklin and Sandra Marshall.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Cadwgan.
Cadwgan takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Derek really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Derek connects with the punch.
Derek definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Cadwgan wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Cadwgan throws a looping overhand right but Derek ducks down to avoid it.

Cadwgan moves forwards but Derek connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Cadwgan takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cadwgan shoots in looking for a takedown but Derek manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cadwgan's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Derek connects with a solid leg kick.
Derek lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Cadwgan at a distance.

Cadwgan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Derek was well out of range. Poor timing from Cadwgan.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Derek.
Derek feints a jab promting Cadwgan to slip. Derek then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Cadwgan slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Derek lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Cadwgan backs up against the cage.

Cadwgan misses with an uppercut.
Derek is looking to slow Cadwgan down with leg kicks.
Cadwgan closes the distance but Derek moves to the side
and Derek connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Cadwgan throws a looping overhand right but Derek ducks down to avoid it.

Cadwgan closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Derek quickly recovers to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Derek is trying to stand.

Cadwgan has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Derek defend it? Cadwgan steps over the head and cranks it - Derek is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Cadwgan!
