Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Flash Evans (ranked 3134 p4p, 3434 weight class) and Jaro Key (ranked 214 p4p, 227 weight class). Evans comes to the cage accompanied by Escape From The City. Key has chosen HonestKey- The Unseen as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Flash Evans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jaro Key!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans throws a series of punches but Key avoids them all with ease.
Key drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Evans defends it well.
Key ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Evans moves away.

Evans moves into the clinch.
Evans has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Key after a bit of a struggle.
I was talking to Evans's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Key tries to pull guard but Evans won't allow it.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Key has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Key can't get the takedown.

Evans escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Evans connects with the punch.
Evans goes for a double leg but Key avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Key continues to drive forward.
Evans scores with a shot to the side of Key's head.

Evans pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Evans forces Key back against the cage and clinches.
Key can't break the clinch.
Key stops a takedown attempt from Evans.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Flash Evans. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Evans breaks from the clinch.
Evans throws a right hand that Key ducks under and follows up with a left that Key also avoids with ease.
And Key tries to counter it with a takedown but Evans pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Key changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Evans looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Key tries to advance to mount but can't.
Evans tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Key presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Key is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Evans to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Evans shrugs it off.

Key looking to isolate an arm here. Evans doesn't see it coming and as Key extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Key!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jaro Key!
Jaro Key seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
