Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave Batista (ranked 4168 p4p, 25184 weight class) and Michal Materla (ranked 187 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dave Batista!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michal Materla!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Materla enables Batista to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Materla manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Materla has Batista pulled in close to control his posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Materla has a closed guard, preventing Batista from standing up.
Batista controlling from the top position.
Batista trying to control the position from guard on top but Materla is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Batista content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Batista wants to control from the top but Materla keeps moving.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Materla is defended easily by Batista.

Batista closes the distance and pushes Materla back into the cage.
Batista scores with a shoulder strike.
Materla wants a takedown but no success here.

Batista wants the takedown. Materla is fighting it off but Batista persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Materla's guard against the cage.
Batista tries to stand but Materla is controlling from the bottom.

Batista tries to free his leg and advance position but Materla is retaining full guard.

Batista is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Materla is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Batista wants to lay and pray for a moment but Materla keeps working.
Batista creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Batista tries to advance to mount but can't.
Batista working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Batista is working to tighten his grip on Materla's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Materla has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Batista is really squeezing tight and eventually Materla passes out! Batista breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
