And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Tomas Rumiantsev!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Lou da Vinci and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silalahi looks to score with a jab to the body but Rumiantsev is just out of range.
Rumiantsev drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Silalahi defends it well.
Silalahi lands with a nice body kick.
Silalahi ducks under a wild hook from Rumiantsev.
Silalahi misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Rumiantsev.
Rumiantsev throws a shot from downtown. Silalahi moves away and avoids it.
Silalahi fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Rumiantsev throws a hook to the side of Silalahi's head but Silalahi sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Silalahi connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Rumiantsev slips under a jab from Silalahi.
Rumiantsev changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Silalahi on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silalahi tries to clinch there but Rumiantsev circles away.
That kick from Silalahi tenderised Rumiantsev's leg. Rumiantsev is trying to keep his angry face on.
Silalahi throws a head kick that misses.
Silalahi fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Silalahi cracks Rumiantsev with a good jab.

Silalahi punishes Rumiantsev's body with a nice straight punch.
Silalahi scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Silalahi looks to score with a jab to the body but Rumiantsev is just out of range.
Silalahi looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Silalahi throws a sloppy head kick and Rumiantsev moves out of range easily.
Silalahi lands a right hook to the body.
Rumiantsev throws a body shot but no joy.
Silalahi changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Rumiantsev has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Silalahi throws a leg kick that is checked

and Rumiantsev counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Silalahi tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Rumiantsev takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silalahi tries to kick Rumiantsev off but Rumiantsev keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Rumiantsev wants to control but Silalahi is keeping him busy.
Silalahi pushes Rumiantsev off looking to stand but Rumiantsev dives back in and keeps control.
Rumiantsev lands strikes from half guard.

Rumiantsev is trying to work for a kimura but Silalahi is defending well.
Silalahi is looking for a sweep. Rumiantsev is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Silalahi wants to get back to his feet.
Rumiantsev seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Rumiantsev takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Rumiantsev wants to take a breather but Silalahi is having none of it.

Silalahi makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Greggory Silalahi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rumiantsev uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Silalahi.
And Rumiantsev tries to counter it with a takedown but Silalahi pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Silalahi swings widly with a right hand

and Rumiantsev counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Silalahi!
Silalahi bucks up and tries to throw Rumiantsev off but instead Rumiantsev has got his back!
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Rumiantsev.
Silalahi tries to escape but Rumiantsev has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Silalahi trying to get back to his feet but Rumiantsev is in full control for now.
Silalahi prevents Rumiantsev from getting a body triangle.
Rumiantsev scores with punches to the body.
Rumiantsev lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Well, with Rumiantsev on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Silalahi is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
Silalahi is in bad spot here.
Rumiantsev biding his time, looking for the opening.
Silalahi trying to get back to his feet but Rumiantsev is in full control for now.
Rumiantsev connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Silalahi to escape the position.

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Rumiantsev's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Silalahi is trying to remain composed but Rumiantsev is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.

Rumiantsev is persistently looking for the submission but Silalahi is defending it well.

Rumiantsev is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Rumiantsev looking to break Silalahi's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Silalahi remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Rumiantsev will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Silalahi is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Silalahi wants to get back to his feet. He's half way up but Rumiantsev drags him back down with a jolt, managing to get his forearm deep under Silalahi 's chin! Silalahi is in real trouble! His face is turning bright red and he's forced to tap! This one is all over!
