Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ronaldo Gomes (ranked 2730 p4p, 1698 weight class) and Sergey Bakarow (ranked 307 p4p, 215 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Ronaldo Gomes has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Ronaldo Gomes seems to be OK! The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomes throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Gomes wants to improve his position but Bakarow is controlling well.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Gomes is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Bakarow jumps into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gomes tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bakarow wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Gomes manages to work his way to half guard, despite Bakarow's best efforts.
