Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Junior Pike (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Daley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Junior Pike could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jay Daley's chin.

The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Atkins and William Gold.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Daley decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Daley throwing shots but Pike is blocking nicely.

Daley gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Daley sizes up Pike with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Daley is looking to clinch but Pike is avoiding it.
Daley shoots in looking for a takedown. Pike tries to sprawl out of it but Daley keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pike manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Daley tries for a takedown but Pike sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Pike drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Daley dives on top into guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Pike is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Pike lands a nice short elbow.
Daley is not content to let Pike control the position.

Pike has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Daley can do anything to dispel that myth.

That was a close round but I would say that Junior Pike will probably get the nod.

Pike throws a strike but Daley rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Daley had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Pike is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Daley Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Pike's back instead.

Daley lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Daley.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pike accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

BOOM! Pike connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Junior Pike is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Daley has his foot on Pike's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pike works his way back into a safe position though.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pike, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
