Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hagler Hearns (ranked 4044 p4p, 4194 weight class) and Marcial Ama (ranked 255 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hagler Hearns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marcial Ama!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hearns sizes up Ama with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Ama clinches up with Hearns and pushes him back against the cage.
Ama has Hearns pressed against the cage, preventing Hearns from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Hearns tries to break the clinch but Ama is controlling the position.

Ama tightens his grip and picks Hearns up, before dumping him to the ground. Hearns manages to land in guard.

Ama drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ama jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hearns knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ama on the ground.
Ama is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Hearns will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Ama is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hearns is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hearns is trying to work for a sweep but Ama has mounted him!
Ama landing strikes, looking to finish!
Hearns is trying to reverse the position but instead Ama has taken his back - oops!
Hearns rolls, trying to escape but Ama keeps control of the position.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Ama controlling the positon.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Ama is hanging on to Hearns's back as he tries to escape.

Ama is persistently looking for the submission but Hearns is defending it well.

Ama has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Hearns has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

What can Hearns do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Ama is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Ama avoiding Hearns 's attempts to control his hands.
Hearns can't escape the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ama trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Hearns doesn't escape.
Hearns tries to roll but Ama sticks to his back.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Ama takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Hearns lands a lovely overhand right.
Ama throws a head kick that misses.
Ama takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Hearns ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ama moves away.

Ama clinches with his opponent.
Hearns wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Hearns wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Hearns wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ama has him pressed against the cage.
Hearns tries to circle away but Ama has him pinned against the cage.

Ama manages to pull guard.
Hearns trying to control the position from guard on top but Ama is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ama has control of Hearns's left arm, preventing Hearns from doing any damage.

Ama uses the cage to get back to his feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hearns enables Ama to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hearns manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Hearns is working an open guard so Ama takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Marcial Ama is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Ama takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Ama looking to score a takedown here. Hearns is defending well but Ama drives through and ends up in Hearns's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ama postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Hearns has an active guard here but Ama has managed to pass into half guard.
Still in half guard, Ama seems content to control.
Ama has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Hearns wants to improve his position but Ama is controlling well.

Ama content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Hearns is looking for a sweep. Ama is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Ama passes to full mount!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hearns holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Ama tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Hearns wants to hold on but Ama pushes him away.
Hearns really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Marcial Ama has got the better of the ground game so far.

Ama with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hearns is working to get back to half guard.

Marcial Ama showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Hearns stuns Ama with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Hearns wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Hearns tries to sprawl but Ama drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Hearns is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hearns blocking the ground and pound attempt from Ama.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hearns has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ama is working away from the top position though.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Ama in particular looking to stall.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Hearns crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Ama - the referee stops the clock and Hearns gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Ama. Hearns manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Hearns tries to sprawl but Ama drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Ama takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Hearns is looking to improve his position.

Hearns is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ama pulls his head out easily.
Ama thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hearns's head.

Hearns has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Ama escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Ama!

Ama tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Hagler Hearns has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Ama staying calm.
Let's hope that Ama has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
