Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rodrigo Vivar I (ranked 4072 p4p, 25459 weight class) and Marshall Mitchell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mitchell goes for a double leg but Vivar I avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Vivar I continues to drive forward.

Vivar I parries the strikes from Mitchell easily there. Mitchell is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Vivar I to escape.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mitchell accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Mitchell escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vivar I gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Vivar I drops back looking for a leg! Mitchell is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mitchell manages to kick Vivar I off! Vivar I jumps back into Mitchell's guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
