Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Junior Daniel (ranked 2502 p4p, 3699 weight class) and Aidan Cooty (ranked 143 p4p, 200 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Junior Daniel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aidan Cooty!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cooty shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Daniel counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Cooty with a lazy takedown attempt
and Daniel counters with a right hand to the body.
Daniel lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Cooty backs up against the cage.

It looks like Aidan Cooty has been cut.
Daniel scores with a hook to the body. Cooty takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Cooty looks winded!
Daniel bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Cooty's head backwards.

Daniel drops Cooty with a nice combination! Daniel dives into Cooty's guard, looking to finish!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cooty is looking to stand up but Daniel isn't so interested in that idea.
Daniel has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Daniel trying to control the position from guard on top but Cooty is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Daniel wanted to stand there but Cooty had control of the position.
Daniel controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Cooty is looking to stand up but Daniel isn't so interested in that idea.
Cooty is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Daniel is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Cooty wants to stand and escape but Daniel is having none of it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Cooty's coach down at Cozad MMA Las Vegas was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Cooty's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Daniel throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Cooty stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

and Daniel counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Junior Daniel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aidan Cooty.
Daniel works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Daniel throws a left that rocks Cooty and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Daniel dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Cooty regain composure!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cooty wants to get back to his feet but Daniel drags him back down.
Daniel tries to advance to mount but Cooty denies him.
Daniel wants to stand but Cooty has his arm trapped.
Daniel prevents Cooty from escaping the position.
Daniel throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
The ground and pound from Daniel seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Daniel wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cooty keeps working.

Cooty wants to get back to his feet but Daniel drags him back down.
Daniel wants to stand but Cooty has his arm trapped.

Daniel looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Cooty tries to escape but Daniel is in control.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Cooty goes for a double leg but Daniel avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Daniel continues to drive forward.
Cooty moves in looking to clinch but Daniel pushes him off.
Daniel is looking for a counter combo.
Cooty shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Daniel counters with a three punch combo that has Cooty backing up. Cooty nods at Daniel to acknowledge the strikes.

and Daniel counters with a series of strikes that sends Cooty to the canvas! Daniel follows down into guard, looking to finish the fight!

Cooty is rocked!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Daniel is stalling in the full guard.

Daniel drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Daniel jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Daniel throwing strikes but missing.
Cooty is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Daniel is looking to work some ground and pound but Cooty has wrist control.
Cooty working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Daniel.
Daniel is stalling in the full guard.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Aidan Cooty's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Cooty with a lazy takedown attempt
and Daniel makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Daniel tests Cooty's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Cooty shoots for a takedown but Daniel saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Daniel connects with a body shot.
Daniel scores with a jab to the body.
Daniel is looking to wear down Cooty with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

A jab-cross combination lands for Daniel and sends Cooty crashing to the mat! Daniel follows him down to the mat - Cooty regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
Cooty is still in real trouble! Can Daniel finish him?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cooty is looking to escape.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Daniel in particular looking to stall.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Daniel connects with a nice short shot to Cooty's temple.
Daniel not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Daniel perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Daniel looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Cooty seems to have recovered his senses.
Cooty keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cooty can do anything to dispel that myth.
Cooty looks like he's trying to stand up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

and Daniel counters with a series of strikes. Cooty will be more careful next time no doubt.

That has opened up Aidan Cooty's cut even more.
Cooty gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Cooty takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Junior Daniel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aidan Cooty.

Cooty takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Cooty shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Daniel counters with a series of strikes that really hurt Cooty! The ref looks into his eyes and sees nobody home - he's called the fight! This one is all over!
