Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mekong Catfish!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Izu Ugonoh!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Ben Hemmingworth and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left lands for Catfish.
Good exchange - Catfish coming out on top.

It looks like Izu Ugonoh has been cut.
Catfish steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ugonoh.
Ugonoh takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Ugonoh misses with a looping left.
Ugonoh looks to land a right hand but Catfish moved out of range.
Ugonoh drops his hands momentarily and Catfish takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Ugonoh connects with a right hand. Catfish shakes it off.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Catfish connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Catfish closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Ugonoh gets control of Catfish's arms and successfully pulls guard. Ugonoh will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Catfish stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ugonoh swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ugonoh looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Izu Ugonoh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ugonoh has taken the fight to the clinch.
Catfish swings wildly with an uppercut but Ugonoh uses good head movement to avoid it.

Catfish is fighting off a takedown attempt but Ugonoh is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Catfish to the mat. Catfish regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Ugonoh stops Catfish from standing up.
Ugonoh slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Catfish definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ugonoh is defended easily by Catfish.

Catfish connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Ugonoh momentarily.

Ugonoh tries to keep at a distance but Catfish has taken the fight into the clinch.
Ugonoh tries a body shot but Catfish blocks it.
Catfish fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Ugonoh is pushing Catfish up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Catfish throws a head punch that misses.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Mekong Catfish dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Izu Ugonoh's cut.
That's time! Catfish's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Catfish throws a shot from downtown. Ugonoh moves away and avoids it.
Catfish is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ugonoh can do to turn this around?
The fighters circling - Ugonoh throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Ugonoh takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ugonoh looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Catfish lands an overhand right.
Ugonoh throws a body shot but no joy.
Ugonoh works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Catfish is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Ugonoh tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Catfish paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ugonoh smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

It looks like Mekong Catfish has been cut.
Catfish ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Catfish is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Catfish jabs Ugonoh right on the nose. Ugonoh blinks but takes it well.

That has opened up Izu Ugonoh's cut even more.
Ugonoh misses the shot to the body.
Mekong Catfish is winning the standup battle so far.
Catfish throws a jab when Ugonoh was well out of range.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Ugonoh! But no joy.
Ugonoh walks into a jab.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Catfish steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ugonoh.
Ugonoh uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Ugonoh engages and cracks Catfish with a massive lead left hook - Catfish tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Ugonoh is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Izu Ugonoh!
