Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Da Silva (ranked 3422 p4p, 1324 weight class) and Pekka Perkalla (ranked 230 p4p, 104 weight class). Pekka Perkalla is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pekka Perkalla!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Marco Blurström and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Perkalla shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Perkalla closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Perkalla working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Perkalla wants to lay and pray for a moment but Da Silva keeps working.
Da Silva is looking to regain half guard here but Perkalla keeps moving and retains side control.

Da Silva is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Da Silva is looking to control Perkalla's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Da Silva avoid being mounted?
Perkalla throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Da Silva is not content to let Perkalla control the position.

Perkalla changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Da Silva looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Perkalla looks up at the clock and then as Da Silva takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Perkalla smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well Perkalla has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
