Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andre Driver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kadyn Mercer!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Aafke Stam and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mercer ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Driver paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
It looks like Kadyn Mercer has been cut.
Driver stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Driver wants it to stay on the feet.
Mercer shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Driver pinned against the cage. Driver gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Driver drops Mercer with a big left hand and mounts him. Mercer is in big trouble!
Mercer is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Driver works his way to his opponent's back.
Mercer is still in real trouble! Can Driver finish him?
Driver is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Mercer has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Mercer is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Mercer can't escape the position.
Mercer seems to have recovered his senses.
Driver missing with strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round.
I really don't envy Mercer right now.
Mercer trying to control but not successfully.
Mercer avoids the strikes from Driver.
Driver keeps control of the position as Mercer tries to break free.
Driver throwing sloppy strikes.
Mercer preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Driver.
Driver has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Mercer! Can he survive? No! He's out! Driver gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Andre Driver!
