Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lane Hedley (ranked 2705 p4p, 1725 weight class) and Kobra Jay (ranked 278 p4p, 189 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Igor Prikhodko and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hedley closes the distance and pushes Jay back into the cage.
Jay lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Jay wants to get up but he can't break Hedley's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Hedley has his foot on Jay's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jay works his way back into a safe position though.
Jay got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hedley has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jay has managed to get both his arms back between Hedley's legs - danger averted.

Hedley working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jay doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jay manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Jay gets to his feet. Hedley looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Still in the clinch, Jay scores with a nice short uppercut.
Hedley tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jay just stands there and leans against the cage.
Hedley jumps guard but Jay stands there with Hedley around his waist. Hedley gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Jay throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Hedleys head.

and Jay counters with a nice right hand that sends Hedley toppling to the canvas! Hedley scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Jay finish him?!
Hedley is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jay weaves into range and cracks Hedley right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Hedley goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Jay is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kobra Jay!
