Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ronaldo Gomes (ranked 3230 p4p, 3469 weight class) and Tayaen Porfirigo (ranked 353 p4p, 380 weight class). Ronaldo Gomes could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Tayaen Porfirigo's chin.

With a record of 13 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ronaldo Gomes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 33 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tayaen Porfirigo!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Paul Aken and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Porfirigo ducks under a wild hook from Gomes.
Porfirigo changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Gomes misses with a double jab
and Porfirigo counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Porfirigo thows a huge punch but Gomes dodges it nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gomes bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Porfirigo's guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ronaldo Gomes will probably get the nod.

Porfirigo has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Gomes has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Gomes is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Porfirigo gets his way!

Porfirigo is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Gomes is hurt! He's hurt bad - Porfirigo fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Gomes from any more punishment! Congratulations to Porfirigo! Great finish!
