Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bob Duffy (ranked 3615 p4p, 4325 weight class) and Alexa Volkswagen (ranked 251 p4p, 269 weight class). Alexa Volkswagen acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Duffy looking to score a takedown here. Volkswagen is defending well but Duffy drives through and ends up in Volkswagen's guard.

Duffy drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Volkswagen manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Duffy has Volkswagen in his guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Volkswagen has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Duffy is proving hard to escape from.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Volkswagen wants to control from the top but Duffy keeps moving.
Duffy wants to hit a sweep here but Volkswagen passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Duffy there!

Volkswagen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Duffy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Duffy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Volkswagen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That was a close round but I would say that Bob Duffy will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Volkswagen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Duffy's waist but Duffy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Volkswagen off to one side.

Duffy manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Volkswagen on his heels. He'll look to pass Volkswagen's guard now, I'm sure.

Volkswagen is scooting his butt against the ropes and has managed to get back to his feet. Duffy presses him back against the ropes, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Duffy has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Volkswagen's face.
Duffy pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Duffy seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Volkswagen for as long as he can get away with.

Duffy has control of Volkswagen's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Volkswagen regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Duffy is landing with some decent strikes but Volkswagen is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Volkswagen postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Duffy is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Volkswagen, into his guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Duffy slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

I would just about give that final round to Alexa Volkswagen.
