Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Silviu Alexandrescu (ranked 3324 p4p, 4684 weight class) and Jack Daniels (ranked 402 p4p, 488 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jack Daniels was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daniels misses with a jab, cross combination.
The fighters circling - Alexandrescu throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Alexandrescu moves into range and clinches up with Daniels.
Daniels tries a body shot but Alexandrescu blocks it.

Daniels breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Alexandrescu throws a lazy right hand but Daniels sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Alexandrescu takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Alexandrescu tries to close the distance and clinch up but Daniels swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Daniels counters with a nice uppercut.
Alexandrescu changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Daniels tries to avoid it but Alexandrescu manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Daniels to the ground. Daniels escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Alexandrescu just misses with a punch to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

I was talking to Alexandrescu's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Daniels lands a nice uppercut.
Alexandrescu tries for a takedown but Daniels manages to get underhooks.

Daniels tries to counter with a clinch but Alexandrescu shakes him off and moves away.

Alexandrescu closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Daniels holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
