PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wishon Mourinho (ranked 5558 p4p, 2803 weight class) and Francois Dupont (ranked 305 p4p, 138 weight class). Mourinho kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Starboy. Wishon Mourinho has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Wishon Mourinho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Francois Dupont!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Roger Salmon.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mourinho slips under a jab.
Dupont blocks a head kick by Mourinho.
Dupont avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Dupont is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mourinho.
Mourinho misses with a straight left.
Dupont lands a glancing blow to the side of Mourinho's head.
Dupont scores with a hook to the body. Mourinho takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Mourinho throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dupont was covering up waiting for the punch and Mourinho finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Mourinho slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Dupont looks winded!
Mourinho moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mourinho looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Dupont is avoiding damage well.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Mourinho is working to tighten his grip on Dupont's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Dupont has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Mourinho is really squeezing tight and eventually Dupont passes out! Mourinho breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

A very excited looking Wishon Mourinho rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
