PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Junior Seto (ranked 3607 p4p, 2992 weight class) and Loki Rehn (ranked 367 p4p, 324 weight class). Seto comes into the arena with The Doors - Roadhouse Blues blaring out of the sound system. Loki Rehn will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Junior Seto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Loki Rehn!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Sergei Dronov and Dmitry Maklakov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Seto takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Rehn gets caught flat footed, as Seto shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Seto controlling from the top position.
Seto prevents Rehn from getting back to his feet.
Seto with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Seto loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Rehn is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Seto is controlling him.
Rehn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Seto. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Seto is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Rehn looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Seto sitting in guard here, content to control.

Rehn is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Seto is controlling him.

Seto throws a big right hand that misses.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Seto's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Rehn avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Seto looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Seto not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Seto throws a big elbow that misses.
Seto is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Seto has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
Seto postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Seto passes into half guard.

Seto seems to be looking for submissions.

Seto in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Rehn tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Seto!
