Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Eddie Alvarez!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Joseph Jones and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Chinn was well out of range. Poor timing from Alvarez.
That kick from Chinn tenderised Alvarez's leg. Alvarez is trying to keep his angry face on.
Some bone on bone action there as Alvarez checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Alvarez throws a counter combo.
Chinn looks to throw the jab but Alvarez is out of range.

Chinn has taken the fight to the clinch.
Chinn working aggressively here.
Alvarez looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Chinn lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Alvarez avoids a wild elbow strike from Chinn.

Chinn looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Chinn pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Alvarez works over Chinn's head and body with a nice combination.

It looks like Jeremy Chinn has been cut.

and Alvarez counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Chinn closes the distance and pushes Alvarez back into the ropes.

Chinn pushes off an throws an elbow but Alvarez leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the ropes.

As Chinn backs off Alvarez throws a huge counter combo but Chinn manages to avoid it all.
Alvarez on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

It looks like Eddie Alvarez has been cut.

Alvarez comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Chinn.
Chinn doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Chinn lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Chinn is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Alvarez can do to turn this around?
Chinn drops his hands momentarily and Alvarez takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Chinn - that will leave a mark!

Alvarez clips Chinn with a right and a left that makes him do the chicken dance for a couple of seconds. He touched his left hand down on the canvas so the referee steps between the fighters to give Chinn a standing 8 count before we can continue the bout.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Alvarez scores with a jab and follows up with an uppercut that drops Chinn to his knees! He bounces straight back to his feet but is forced to take the mandatory standing 8 count before he's allowed to continue. We're back under way and the fighters meet in the middle of the canvas to re-engage.

A battle for position here, against the ropes.
Alvarez blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

and Alvarez cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Alvarez misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Chinn.
Alvarez pivots, looking for a leg kick but Chinn is out of range and Alvarez settles back down.
Chinn fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Alvarez has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Alvarez misses the shot to the body.
Chinn throws a quick counter kick to the body but Alvarez avoids it.
Chinn ducks under a wild hook from Alvarez.
Alvarez connects with a body shot that sends Chinn's belly button to the back.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Eddie Alvarez will take that one after putting his opponent down more than once in the round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Alvarez. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Chinn lands a nice leg kick that just misses Alvarez's sensitive parts.

Chinn wants to clinch up but Alvarez keeps it at a distance.
It seemed like Alvarez was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Alvarez lunges at Chinn with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Chinn's hand.
Chinn bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chinn throws a nice inside leg kick.
Alvarez ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Alvarez lands a nice shot that snaps Chinn's head back.
Chinn throws a leg kick
and Alvarez counters with a stiff right hand.
Oh Chinn is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Alvarez moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

and Alvarez counters with a big uppercut that drops Chinn face first to the mat! Will he beat the count?! He's struggled up to his knees on 7 but it doesn't look like he's going to make it... he's been counted out! This fight is all over!
