Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Abdullah Zaire (ranked 2030 p4p, 1240 weight class) and AJ Brown (ranked 290 p4p, 184 weight class). Brown has chosen Ace Hood - Undefeated as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Abdullah Zaire could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to AJ Brown's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, AJ Brown!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Ron Honeybunn and Topper Green.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown throws an off balance right hand
and Zaire counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Brown uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Zaire.
We've been informed that Brown has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Brown scores with a nice right hand.
Zaire slips under a jab.

It seemed like Brown was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Brown might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Zaire fails with a takedown attempt.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Brown lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Zaire has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Zaire and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Zaire bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Brown tries to bench press Zaire off him but Zaire keeps the position.
Brown is trying to control Zaire's posture but Zaire avoids it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Brown is trying to improve his position.
Zaire definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Brown is holding Zaire down, trying to stall.
Brown parries the strikes from Zaire easily there. Zaire is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Brown to escape.
Zaire wants to lay and pray for a moment but Brown keeps working.

Brown is working to avoid the ground and pound but Zaire connects with a decent elbow.
Brown regains half guard.
Brown wants to improve his position but Zaire is controlling well.

Zaire is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Brown is just riding it out for now. Zaire eventually gives up the hold.

Zaire is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Brown is controlling Zaire's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Zaire throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The fighters are battling for position here. Brown manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brown has Zaire pulled in close to control his posture.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Zaire accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Brown is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Brown looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Zaire tries to roll over but Brown keeps him under control.
Brown throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Brown content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Zaire misses with a low kick.
Brown blocks a jab.
Zaire dives in and grabs Brown's left leg, looking for a takedown. Brown pushes down on Zaire's head and hops out.
Zaire swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Abdullah Zaire seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brown misses with an uppercut
and Zaire counters with a nice uppercut.

and Zaire makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Zaire gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Zaire shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Brown pinned against the cage. Brown gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Brown lands with an uppercut that bounces Zaire off the cage and back into range.

Oh Zaire is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Zaire doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Brown counters with a powerful cross that connects right on the chin and the lights go out! A massive one punch knock out!

After winning the bout, AJ Brown thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
