Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mudd Navy (ranked 4065 p4p, 4051 weight class) and Mushiguro Otaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mudd Navy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mushiguro Otaki!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Winston Howard and Topper Green.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Otaki scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Otaki lands a nice leg kick that just misses Navy's sensitive parts.
Otaki throws a front kick aimed at Navy's knee but Navy avoids it well.
Navy went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

so Navy counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Navy working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Otaki's head.
Navy is looking to stand up but Otaki won't let him.
Otaki preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Navy looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Navy throws a big right hand that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Navy slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Otaki can't keep his opponent in guard - Navy advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Navy looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Navy works his way into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Otaki parries the strikes from Navy easily there. Navy is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Otaki to escape.
Navy is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Otaki will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Navy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Navy decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Otaki tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Otaki throws a leg kick which misses Navy's front leg but catches the back leg as Navy tries to avoid it.
Otaki throws a front kick aimed at Navy's knee but Navy avoids it well.

Navy looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Navy moves nicely into side control.

Navy has hold of Otaki's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Otaki tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Navy cranks the arm and Otaki screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Otaki, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
