The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodrigues tried to score with a low kick but Hermann checks it.
Rodrigues ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Rodrigues fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hermann manages to avoid it.
Rodrigues lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Rodrigues pivots, looking for a leg kick but Hermann is out of range and Rodrigues settles back down.

Rodrigues has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

Rodrigues tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hermann was well out of range. Poor timing from Rodrigues.

It looked like Hermann was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Rodrigues.
Rodrigues connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Hermann's hands.
Hermann lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Rodrigues at a distance.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hermann tries to move into range but Rodrigues moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Rodrigues throws a lazy right hand but Hermann sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Hermann's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Rodrigues connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Hermann scrambles back to his feet.
Rodrigues throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Hermann throws a lazy right hand but Rodrigues sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Rodrigues lands with an uppercut that bounces Hermann off the cage and back into range.
Hermann throws a hook but Rodrigues blocks it.
Rodrigues lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Hermann doesn't manage to clinch there - Rodrigues circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hermann on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Rodrigues connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Hermann! He's out on his feet! Rodrigues rushes in and drops Hermann with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
