Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jacky Gane (ranked 2299 p4p, 2047 weight class) and Oscar Guterrez (ranked 187 p4p, 167 weight class). Gane comes to the cage accompanied by Good Kid. Oscar Guterrez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jacky Gane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Oscar Guterrez!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Chris Saunders and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guterrez fails in his attempt to clinch.
Guterrez tries to move into range but Gane moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Guterrez.
Gane is looking to regain half guard here but Guterrez keeps moving and retains side control.
Guterrez lands a decent elbow from side control.
You can see the frustration on Gane's face as Guterrez controls the position.
Gane takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Gane can't do much from the bottom here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Guterrez has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Canucks Combat Club. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Guterrez has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The referee asks Guterrez politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Guterrez prefers to stall for the moment though.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Guterrez wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Gane, who protects the arm well.

It looks like Guterrez might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Gane is trying to get back to half guard.
Guterrez wants to control but Gane is keeping him busy.

Gane really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Guterrez lands a strong strike to the head of Gane. That's dazed him! Guterrez looking to finish here. Gane is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Guterrez lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Oscar Guterrez!
A very excited looking Oscar Guterrez made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
