Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Raphael De La Ghetto (ranked 4833 p4p, 4195 weight class) and Lars Mars (ranked 445 p4p, 422 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De La Ghetto lands with a straight right. Mars didn't see that one coming.
Mars fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
De La Ghetto moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
De La Ghetto misses with a takedown

and Mars counters with a takedown into side control.
De La Ghetto is trying to get back to half guard.

Mars thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
De La Ghetto sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
De La Ghetto gets back to full guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
De La Ghetto is adopting a defensive guard.

De La Ghetto has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mars can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
De La Ghetto is trying to control the position from the bottom.

De La Ghetto lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mars can do anything to dispel that myth.

De La Ghetto keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mars's head.

We've been hearing that De La Ghetto has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
De La Ghetto stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mars swivels though and keeps the full guard.
De La Ghetto throws a big right hand that misses.

De La Ghetto has gone for a leg lock! Mars slips out almost immediately though and dives into De La Ghetto's guard.

De La Ghetto wants to sweep here but Mars controlling him for the moment.

De La Ghetto working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mars doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mars manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Mars content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because De La Ghetto has locked up a guillotine! De La Ghetto's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Mars is holding on here and De La Ghetto must be using up a lot of energy. Mars has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! De La Ghetto gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
