Medicini has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Rutger Petrov is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Petrov fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Medicini sprawls well initially but Petrov persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Petrov is working for a submission of some sort.
