PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chris McCocker (ranked 2442 p4p, 4725 weight class) and Max Gunn (ranked 295 p4p, 457 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris McCocker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Max Gunn!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Franklyn Lucas and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from McCocker misses.
Gunn throws a counter combo.
Gunn avoids the head kick by McCocker.
Gunn lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

McCocker shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gunn's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
McCocker not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
McCocker slips nicely into half guard.
McCocker controlling the action here.
Gunn is in trouble now - McCocker has advanced to mount!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McCocker is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Gunn is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Gunn flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. McCocker anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Gunn and secures both hooks! This could be bad! McCocker slips an arm under Gunn chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. McCocker has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. McCocker is squeezing on Gunn like an anaconda would it's prey. Gunn fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Chris McCocker!
Chris McCocker very nearly forgot to thank Furnace Performance 🔥 amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
