Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bruce avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

McConnell throws out a counter right but Bruce avoids it with no problem.
McConnell tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bruce manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

McConnell throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Bruce makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Bruce is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Bruce counters with a nice uppercut.
Bruce jabs McConnell right on the nose. McConnell blinks but takes it well.
McConnell tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Bruce counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps McConnell thinking.
McConnell wants to clinch

and Bruce counters with a nice right hand that sends McConnell toppling to the canvas! McConnell scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Bruce finish him?!
Bruce keeps the fight on the outside.
Bruce throws a quick counter kick to the body but McConnell avoids it.
Bruce catches McConnell with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Bruce jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Bruce looks for the body kick but McConnell saw that one coming.

Bruce cracks a nice hook into McConnell's ribs.
Bruce clobbers McConnell with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Bruce is looking to counter punch.
Bruce connects with a body shot that sends McConnell's belly button to the back.
Bruce lands a nice shot to the body.
McConnell is breathing heavily.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Bruce, as that shot connected.
Nice body punch from Bruce.
Bruce is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that McConnell can do to turn this around?

Bruce lands a left and a right that send McConnell crashing to the mat, dazed. Bruce thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

McConnell is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bruce connects with a picture perfect right hand that knocks McConnell out cold! This one is over in a flash!
