The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grivois throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Maximilian fails to land the takedown.
Grivois connects with a leg kick.
Maximilian looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Aymeric Grivois seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Grivois is looking for a sweep. Maximilian is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Maximilian has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Grivois wants to control but Maximilian is having none of it.

Maximilian seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Grivois does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Grivois is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Maximilian jumps into side control!

Maximilian is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Grivois is trying to escape and Maximilian transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Grivois is forced to tap! Nice work there by Maximilian! Very nice indeed!
