PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eee Zzz (ranked 4244 p4p, 4196 weight class) and Derrick Allen (ranked 468 p4p, 464 weight class). Allen is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by yeat-spiderman remix. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zzz scores with a jab.
Allen goes for a double leg but Zzz avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the ropes as Zzz continues to drive forward.

Allen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Zzz's guard.

Zzz is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Allen defends well.

Allen had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Zzz defends it easily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Allen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Zzz tries to avoid it but Allen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Zzz to the ground. Zzz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Allen remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Allen remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Allen shoots in looking for a takedown. Zzz tries to sprawl out of it but Allen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Zzz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
