Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Derek Patterson (ranked 2242 p4p, 3824 weight class) and Malcolm King (ranked 296 p4p, 447 weight class). Patterson comes to the cage accompanied by I'm So High. Nashville Pussy. King has chosen YoungBoy Never Broke Again – White Teeth as his entrance music. Derek Patterson is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patterson takes one on the button.
King feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Pattersons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
A swing and a miss from King.
Sloppy strikes from King. Those never looked like landing.
Patterson was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
King scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Patterson throws an ugly left hook that misses
and King counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
King cracks Patterson with a right hand to the side of the head.

Patterson moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

King motions for Patterson to come forward. King throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Patterson is looking to clinch but King is avoiding it.
Patterson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Patterson takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Patterson throws the left hand but King avoids the punch easily.

King wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Patterson half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
King connects with a good right hand that stumbles Patterson. Patterson circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Patterson on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Patterson moves forwards but King connects with a nice, crisp jab.

King tried to score with a low kick but Patterson checks it.
It looked like Patterson was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from King.
King fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
King catches Patterson with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
King looks to land a right hand but Patterson moved out of range.
King's corner calls for a 1-2. King obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

and Patterson counters with a stiff right hand.
King tries to move into range but Patterson moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

King is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Patterson had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
King thuds his right hand into Patterson's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
King throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Patterson gets cracked with a nice right hand there by King.
Oh Patterson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Patterson swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Patterson.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Patterson sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but King is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

King utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Patterson wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

A little feinted left hand from Patterson on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
King lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Patterson is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
King throws a series of strikes that have Patterson backpedaling.
Patterson closes the distance and clinches up with King, looking for a takedown. Patterson pushes King against the cage but King circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Patterson looks to score with a jab to the body but King is just out of range.
King ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
King connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

King drops Patterson with a beautiful combination! Patterson stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - King is looking for the KO!

Patterson lands with a hook. King tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
King is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Patterson takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
King throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Patterson stumbling backwards into the cage! Patterson bounces back off the cage towards King, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! King lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! King celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
