Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Vonsky (ranked 4211 p4p, 3102 weight class) and Alkandros Vasilios (ranked 315 p4p, 255 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alkandros Vasilios!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Vonsky misses.
Vonsky is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Vasilios.
Vonsky throws a looping overhand right but Vasilios ducks down to avoid it.
Vonsky misses the jab.
We've been told by Vonsky's head coaches at Cozad MMA St Petersburg that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Vonsky gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Vonsky swings widly with a right hand

and Vasilios counters with a nice double leg into side control. Vonsky won't be happy with that.
Vasilios happy to just control the position for now.
Vasilios fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Vasilios is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Vonsky knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Vonsky on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Vasilios moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Vasilios working the body and head with strikes.
Vonsky on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Vonsky tries to get out of the position.

Vasilios has hold of Vonsky's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Vonsky seems comfortable defending it but Vasilios has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Vonsky is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Vonsky is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Vasilios couldn't care less - he's delighted!

After winning the bout, Alkandros Vasilios thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
