Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bill S Preston (ranked 1149 p4p, 1860 weight class) and Joanderson Ribeiro (ranked 148 p4p, 229 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Ribeiro's choice of entrance music: Tropkillaz-Gorilla. Joanderson Ribeiro is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Preston misses with a hook
and Ribeiro counters with a nice uppercut.
Ribeiro tries to clinch but Preston moves out of range.
Nice defenses there by Preston.
Preston misses with a hook. Ribeiro ducked under it nicely.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ribeiro.
Ribeiro throws out a leg kick but Preston moves out of range and Ribeiro only half commits.
Ribeiro misses with a body kick.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Ribeiro has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Preston checks a leg kick.
A little feinted left hand from Preston on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Ribeiro fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Preston, pushing him back against the cage.
Preston cracks Ribeiro with a nice body shot.
Preston lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Ribeiro backwards.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ribeiro with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Preston is pressed up against the cage. Ribeiro has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Preston down to the mat. Preston avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Preston definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Preston takes a swing at Ribeiro's ribcage but misses.
Ribeiro is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Ribeiro fails with an attempt to clinch.
Joanderson Ribeiro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ribeiro drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Preston is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Preston throws Ribeiro to one side and escapes!
Ribeiro throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Preston lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ribeiro circles away quickly and effectively.
Ribeiro keeps the fight on the outside.
Preston displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ribeiro.
Bill S Preston has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joanderson Ribeiro.

Ribeiro closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Preston quickly recovers to half guard.
Preston tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Ribeiro manages to move to mount!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Preston knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ribeiro on the ground.

You get the feeling that Preston really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Ribeiro is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Preston is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Preston tries to buck Ribeiro off but Ribeiro takes his back!

Ribeiro has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Preston! Can he survive? No! He's out! Ribeiro gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.

Joanderson Ribeiro decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
