PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Hector Berlioz (ranked 5246 p4p, 4650 weight class) and Harry Swotter (ranked 565 p4p, 535 weight class). Berlioz's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, March to the Scaffold. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hector Berlioz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Harry Swotter!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Bruno Lombardi and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swotter looks to land a combination but Berlioz avoids it well.
Swotter steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Berlioz.
Swotter tries to clinch but Berlioz moves out of range.
Berlioz throws a looping overhand right but Swotter ducks down to avoid it.
Swotter will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Swotter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Berlioz circles away quickly and effectively.
A quick step to the side and Berlioz tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Berlioz throws a series of punches but Swotter avoids them all with ease.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Berlioz throws out a head kick that Swotter doesn't see coming - it connects and sends Swotter crashing to the mat face first! He's bounced up to his knees and is scrambling to get back to his feet and beat the count. He's up on 5 but still looks a bit groggy; will the referee allow it to continue??? He's taking a good look into Swotter's eyes and has decided to let it go on!

Swotter is rocked!

It looks like Harry Swotter has been cut.
Swotter fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Berlioz looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Swotter avoids the body shot from Berlioz.
Swotter wants to counter with a clinch but Berlioz pushes him away.
Berlioz throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Swotter sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Swotter tries to counter by closing the distance.
Berlioz connects with a crushing straight, right on the bridge of Swotter's nose, sending him crumpling to the mat! That's really rocked Swotter - is he going to beat the count??? 4,5,6,7,8,9.....10 - he's not made it - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Hector Berlioz!
During a confident post fight interview, Hector Berlioz thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
