Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Akeen Coker (ranked 1765 p4p, 2380 weight class) and Mason Rogers (ranked 64 p4p, 95 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogers moves out of range as Coker throws a body kick.
Coker looks for the body kick but Rogers saw that one coming.
An inside leg kick from Rogers misses.
Rogers buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

A decent looking body kick lands there for Coker.
Rogers throws a hook but Coker avoids it easily.
Rogers will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Rogers has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Rogers there as he acknowledges the shot.

Coker's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Rogers connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Coker scrambles back to his feet.

Rogers is taking a breather. Coker says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Rogers misses with a head shot. Coker uses the momentum to regain guard.
Rogers must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Coker is trying to work for a sweep but Rogers has mounted him!

Coker seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Rogers has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Coker is working away from the top position though.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Nice uppercut lands for Coker. That snapped Rogers's head back.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Coker checks a leg kick.
Coker connects with a right that clearly hurt Rogers. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Coker proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Rogers collapses and taps out under the pressure!
