Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ronaldo Gomes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tatu Lehto!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gomes shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Lehto is trying to defend but Gomes finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Gomes is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Gomes is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Gomes is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lehto is just riding it out for now. Gomes eventually gives up the hold.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tatu Lehto dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Lehto throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Gomes tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lehto sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gomes somewhat.
Gomes goes for a double leg but Lehto avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Lehto continues to drive forward.
Lehto has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Gomes misses with a right hand
and Lehto counters with a straight right hand.

and Lehto counters with a combination of strikes to the head and body that crumple Gomes!

Gomes is rocked!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ronaldo Gomes. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lehto decides to stand up.
Oh Gomes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lehto steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Gomes is out on his feet! Lehto sets himself and nearly takes Gomes's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Tatu Lehto!
