Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Roberto Duran (ranked 4412 p4p, 4394 weight class) and Anthony Mundine (ranked 473 p4p, 471 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roberto Duran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Mundine!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mundine takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Mundine misses the shot to the body.
Mundine swinging wildly here.
It looked like Duran wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Mundine falls off balance throwing a combination
and Duran counters with a nice body shot.
Mundine moves out of range of the strikes.
Mundine tries to bum rush Duran with a series of wild strikes but Duran uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mundine fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Duran throws a body punch but Mundine moves out of range.

Duran cracks Mundine with an open hand slap.
Duran throws a hook but Mundine avoids it easily.
Mundine lands a nice hook to Duran's body. Duran takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

and Mundine counters with a nice uppercut.
A looping hook to the body misses from Mundine. Duran does a little dance to reset his feet.
Mundine scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Duran doesn't seem bothered though.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Anthony Mundine seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No joy there for Mundine, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Duran was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Duran fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Duran looks to throw the jab but Mundine is out of range.
Mundine fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Duran manages to avoid it.

and Mundine counters with a nice uppercut.

Duran throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mundine is looking for the big counter here.

Mundine throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Duran counters with a nice right hand that sends Mundine toppling to the canvas! Mundine scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Duran finish him?!

Mundine is rocked!

It looks like Anthony Mundine has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Duran misses with a wild body shot.
Mundine throws a poor cross that misses

and Duran counters with a crisp right hand that drops Mundine! Duran lets Mundine back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Mundine is still on wobbly legs! Can Duran finish him?
Mundine misses with a series of wild punches.
Duran throws the left hand but Mundine avoids the punch easily.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Anthony Mundine's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Mundine seems to have recovered his senses.
Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with each other but Mundine might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Duran has got the better of the exchanges.

Mundine is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Duran.
Mundine throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Duran throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mundine.
Mundine walks into a picture perfect straight right hand from Duran! He's gone down face first to the canvas, unconscious before he even hit the floor! Ohhhh. My. Goodness! That boys and girls was a beautiful knockout! Give that man a biscuit!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Roberto Duran!
A relieved looking Roberto Duran thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
