The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McConnell tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Motosserra paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A looping hook to the body misses from Motosserra. McConnell does a little dance to reset his feet.
McConnell is looking to clinch but Motosserra is avoiding it.
McConnell tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Motosserra manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
McConnell misses with a jab, cross combination.
Sloppy strikes from McConnell. Those never looked like landing.
McConnell wants to clinch up but Motosserra keeps it at a distance.
McConnell uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Motosserra.
Motosserra misses with a wild body shot.
McConnell throws a right hand that Motosserra ducks under and follows up with a left that Motosserra also avoids with ease.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Motosserra avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
McConnell wants to clinch.

Motosserra closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. McConnell quickly recovers to half guard.

Motosserra seems to be working for a kimura but McConnell defends the submission attempt.

McConnell wants to improve his position but Motosserra is controlling well.
Motosserra looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Motosserra stops McConnell from getting back to his feet.
McConnell is trying to control but can't.
McConnell tries to get to full guard but Motosserra has control of the leg.

Motosserra is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so McConnell is just riding it out for now. Motosserra eventually gives up the hold.

A very excited looking Charlinho Motosserra rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
