PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Myke Typhoon (ranked 4301 p4p, 4321 weight class) and Radwulf Jupiter McFly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McFly comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Issues by Julia Michaels kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Myke Typhoon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Radwulf Jupiter McFly!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Radbod Blank.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Typhoon darts in and clinches McFly up against the cage.
Typhoon is defending well against a takedown attempt.
McFly working Typhoon over with knees to the body.
With the fighters up against the cage, Typhoon throws an elbow but misses.
McFly is looking to take this one to the mat.
McFly tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Typhoon just stands there and leans against the cage.
Myke Typhoon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Radwulf Jupiter McFly.
Typhoon pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
McFly throws a head punch that misses.
McFly changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Typhoon fights it off and pushes away nicely.
McFly misses with a takedown attempt - Typhoon sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Typhoon counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Typhoon.
Typhoon keeps the fight in the clinch, despite McFly's efforts to push away.

Typhoon is trying to trip McFly. He has hold of a leg but McFly is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Typhoon persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Typhoon postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

McFly throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Typhoon sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Typhoon is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Typhoon postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Typhoon throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McFly works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
McFly throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Typhoon shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McFly but McFly pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
McFly gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Typhoon counters with a crisp one two that drops McFly! Typhoon thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves McFly to his feet! McFly is in big trouble!

McFly is rocked!
Typhoon darts in looking for a takedown but McFly gets double underhooks and turns Typhoon into the cage.
And McFly tries to counter it with a takedown but Typhoon pushes his down on his head and steps out.
The referee calls for Typhoon to work.

Typhoon jumps guard and drags McFly to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Typhoon looking for subs off his back but McFly has passed one foot through into half guard.
McFly uses his free foot to push down on Typhoon's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Typhoon.
Typhoon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McFly on the ground.

Typhoon is wriggling around trying to escape.
McFly looking to control but Typhoon is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Typhoon tries to get back to half guard but can't.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Typhoon slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
McFly trying to control the action but Typhoon is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McFly wants to stand up but Typhoon has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Typhoon is trying to get back to full guard.
Typhoon desperately trying to maintain half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

McFly decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Radwulf Jupiter McFly will probably get the nod.
That's time! Typhoon's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from McFly.
McFly stuffs the takedown.
No luck for Typhoon with that takedown attempt.
McFly pulls out of a head kick attempt.
McFly keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Myke Typhoon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McFly fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Typhoon shoots in but McFly avoids the takedown attempt easily.
McFly gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Typhoon pulls guard successfully.
Typhoon is adopting a defensive guard.
McFly sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Typhoon's guard.
Typhoon looks like he's trying to stand up.
Typhoon is refusing to be controlled, as McFly sits in half guard.

McFly wants to stand but Typhoon has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
McFly is thwarting Typhoon's attempts to control the position.
McFly thows a huge punch but Typhoon dodges it nicely.
McFly uses his free foot to push down on Typhoon's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Typhoon.
McFly tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Typhoon tries to reverse the position but McFly maintains control.
Typhoon tries to hold on but McFly postures up.
Typhoon is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because McFly is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
McFly thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Typhoon is looking to get to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Typhoon wants to hold on but McFly pushes him away.
Typhoon reaches up to try and control the position but McFly seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Typhoon rolls and tries to escape and now McFly has his back!
McFly is hanging on to Typhoon's back as he tries to escape.

McFly is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Typhoon tries to escape but McFly has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Typhoon is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
McFly misses with punches from the back.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Radwulf Jupiter McFly showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

McFly looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
McFly drops his hands for a split second and Typhoon immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into McFly face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Typhoon follows up with a right hand that knocks McFly into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!
