Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tommy Reynolds!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jimothy Halpert!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Bruno Hogan and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reynolds tries to clinch but Halpert moves out of range.
Halpert fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Halpert enables Reynolds to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Halpert manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Halpert manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Reynolds manages to get himself to full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reynolds has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Halpert has passed into side control.
Halpert creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Reynolds shoots in for a takedown but Halpert shows good takedown defense.
Halpert is looking for the big counter here.
Reynolds is breathing heavily.
Donk. Halpert catches Reynolds right on the button with a cross.

Halpert gets caught flat footed, as Reynolds shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Halpert has control of Reynolds's left arm, preventing Reynolds from doing any damage.
Reynolds won't allow Halpert to get back to his feet.
Reynolds looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Halpert is pulling down on Reynolds's head to control his posture.
Halpert manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Reynolds manages to get himself to full guard.

Halpert is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Reynolds is just riding it out for now. Halpert eventually gives up the hold.

Halpert tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Reynolds manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Well, if Halpert is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Halpert winds up and cracks Reynolds with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Reynolds won't allow Halpert to pass to mount.

Halpert is looking to take a break and control but Reynolds is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Halpert pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Halpert is looking to clinch but Reynolds is avoiding it.
Halpert explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

Reynolds gets caught napping as Halpert dives in and scores a takedown. Reynolds manages to retain guard.
Halpert is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Halpert must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Halpert's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Halpert with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Halpert is stalling in the full guard.

Jimothy Halpert showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Halpert has closed the distance and engaged Reynolds in a clinch.
Halpert is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Reynolds accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Halpert has his hands on Reynolds's head, controlling the position.

Halpert is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Reynolds defends well.
Halpert is controlling Reynolds's posture.

Halpert has his foot on Reynolds's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Reynolds works his way back into a safe position though.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Reynolds tries to strike but it doesn't land.

Halpert cracks Reynolds with a big right hand but Reynolds just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Halpert really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Reynolds. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Reynolds is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Halpert asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Reynolds tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Halpert is looking to take a break and control but Reynolds is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Halpert scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Reynolds to see if he's OK.

Halpert stands up and beckons Reynolds to his feet.
Halpert looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Halpert lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Halpert shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Reynolds defends it nicely.
Tommy Reynolds has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimothy Halpert.
Halpert doesn't manage to clinch there - Reynolds circles away.

Reynolds shoots in for a double leg but Halpert sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Halpert shoots in and gets a takedown into Reynolds's guard.
Halpert not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Let's hope that Halpert has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Reynolds can't keep his opponent in guard - Halpert advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Well Halpert has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
