Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jake Seagal (ranked 3136 p4p, 3135 weight class) and Ivan Vladivich (ranked 356 p4p, 357 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ivan Vladivich!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Thiago Cunha and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Seagal tries a low kick but Vladivich avoids it.
Vladivich avoids a punch combination nicely.
A little jabbing left from Vladivich on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Vladivich drives through and clinches with Seagal against the cage.
Seagal is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Vladivich to keep the fight standing.
Seagal is looking for a takedown.
Vladivich tries to pull guard but Seagal forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Vladivich prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Seagal. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Vladivich gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Seagal.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Vladivich has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Seagal uses from the top position.

Seagal has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Vladivich is pulling down on Seagal's head. It's preventing any offense from Seagal, at least for the moment.
Seagal wants to control from the top but Vladivich keeps moving.
Seagal passes Vladivich's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Seagal prevents Vladivich from improving his position.
Seagal wants to free his trapped foot but Vladivich is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Vladivich manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Seagal keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Vladivich is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vladivich can do anything to dispel that myth.
Vladivich bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Seagal's guard.

Vladivich dives in and scores a takedown into Seagal's guard.

Seagal has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Vladivich off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Vladivich moves into range and clinches up with Seagal.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Vladivich tries to land a knee to the head but Seagal blocks with his arms.
Seagal tries to circle away but Vladivich has him pinned against the cage.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Seagal manages to break the clinch.

Seagal gets caught napping as Vladivich dives in and scores a takedown. Seagal manages to retain guard.

Seagal has his feet on Vladivich's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Ivan Vladivich dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Vladivich leaves Seagal with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Seagal tries to keep at a distance but Vladivich has taken the fight into the clinch.

Vladivich breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Horrible takedown attempt by Seagal or perhaps it was just good defense by Vladivich, which made it look bad.
Seagal throws a leg kick that is checked

and Vladivich counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Seagal has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Vladivich is on him like a limpet, forcing Seagal back against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Vladivich is pushing Seagal up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Seagal is working for takedown but Vladivich is calmly controlling the position for now.

Vladivich manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Seagal with a flurry of punches that miss.

Seagal trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Seagal passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
Seagal wants to stand but Vladivich has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vladivich gets full guard.

Vladivich pulls Seagal in to control the position.
Vladivich keeping moving, preventing Seagal from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Seagal changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vladivich tries to avoid it but Seagal manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vladivich to the ground. Vladivich escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Vladivich avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Vladivich drives through and clinches with Seagal against the cage.

Vladivich has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Seagal regains guard immediately.

Seagal wants to improve his position but instead Vladivich has moved into half guard.
Vladivich wants to advance to full mount but Seagal doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Vladivich is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Seagal looking to hit a scissor sweep but Vladivich is one step ahead there.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Seagal wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Vladivich is now in half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Ivan Vladivich showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Seagal tries to close the distance and clinch up but Vladivich swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Vladivich drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Seagal throws Vladivich to one side and escapes!
Vladivich blocks the body kick.
Seagal has a takedown stuffed.
Seagal shoots in looking for a takedown. Vladivich tries to sprawl out of it but Seagal keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Vladivich manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Seagal lands a head kick. Vladivich smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Vladivich fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Seagal to the ground. Vladivich is now in Seagal's guard.
Vladivich seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Vladivich distracts Seagal with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Seagal not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Vladivich is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Seagal has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Vladivich is looking to defend but Seagal has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Vladivich! Seagal pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Vladivich taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Jake Seagal!
