Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adrian Atkins (ranked 1482 p4p, 2150 weight class) and Peoples Champion (ranked 171 p4p, 239 weight class). Champion has chosen Aegukka as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adrian Atkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 14 - 1, fighting out of New York, Peoples Champion!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Atkins is looking to land body kicks.

Champion drops his shoulder and cracks Atkins with a huge uppercut! Atkins goes down! Can Champion finish him?
It looks like Adrian Atkins has been cut.
Atkins working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Champion doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Champion manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Champion was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.

Atkins ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Champion moves away.
Atkins throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Champion stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Champion rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Atkins counters with a big head kick but Champion shrugs it off.

Champion swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

Atkins blocks a low kick nicely.
Atkins ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Champion moves out of range of the strikes.
Champion swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Atkins closes the distance and clinches.

A nice leg kick lands there from Atkins.

Atkins tries to counter by clinching up but Champion breaks away and moves out of range.
Atkins smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Champion lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Atkins feints and then cracks Champion's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Champion down.
Atkins clinches up against the cage.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Champion blocks a body shot from Atkins.
Champion is trying to break free.
Atkins lands a right hand.
Champion misses with a body punch.
Atkins works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Atkins goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Champion is looking to break free of the clinch but Atkins has double underhooks.
Champion pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Champion takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Atkins steps into range and cracks Champion with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Champion flops backwards and Atkins dives into his guard looking to finish!
Champion is rocked!
Champion told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Champion keeping moving, preventing Atkins from controlling successfully.
Champion is still in real trouble! Can Atkins finish him?
Atkins seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Champion seems to have recovered his senses.
Champion is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Atkins looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's time! Atkins's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Champion throws a looping overhand right but Atkins ducks down to avoid it.
Atkins lands a nice shot to the body.
Champion slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Champion crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Atkins - the referee stops the clock and Champion gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Atkins. Champion manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Champion looks to land a combination but Atkins avoids it well.
Atkins is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Champion can do to turn this around?

Atkins appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

Atkins wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
A head kick lands from Atkins that sends Champion to the canvas. Champion tries to scramble back to his feet but Atkins brings him back down into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Champion is looking to regain half guard here but Atkins keeps moving and retains side control.

Atkins throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Atkins lands a strong strike to the head of Champion. That's dazed him! Atkins looking to finish here. Champion is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Atkins lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
