Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Luca Li Citra!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Micheangelo Fripello and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good standup being displayed there by Li Citra as he connects with a hook.
Li Citra stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Li Citra wants it to stay on the feet.
Smyth bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Smyth staying calm.
Li Citra can't do much from the bottom here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Li Citra is trying to buck Smyth off.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smyth tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Li Citra is letting Smyth control him for a moment.

Smyth seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Li Citra for as long as he can get away with.
Li Citra is pushing Smyth's head away, looking to escape. Smyth manages to hold on to the position though.

Li Citra really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smyth. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Li Citra is not content to let Smyth control the position.
Li Citra wants to control but Smyth postures up.

Li Citra pushes Smyth away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Smyth gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Smyth looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Li Citra felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smyth throws a strike aimed at the side of Li Citra's head but Li Citra avoids it well.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Li Citra is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
We've been told by Smyth's head coaches at Shut Up & Train! {$1000} that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Smyth decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Smyth seems to be working for a kimura but Li Citra defends the submission attempt.
Smyth prevents Li Citra from standing back up.

Li Citra is trying to maintain the position but Smyth is very close to passing his half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
William Smyth dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
A low kick lands for Li Citra.
Luca Li Citra has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Smyth takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Smyth misses with a takedown attempt - Li Citra sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for William Smyth. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Li Citra lands a right hook to the body.
Li Citra throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
A decent looking cross lands there for Li Citra.
Smyth is rocked!
Smyth will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Smyth shoots in for a takedown but Li Citra shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Li Citra is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Li Citra cracks Smyth with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Smyth looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Li Citra finish him?
Oh Smyth is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Li Citra digs a good body shot into Smyth's ribs.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Li Citra throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Smyth is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the cage! Wow!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Luca Li Citra!
Luca Li Citra decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
