Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jose Ruiz (ranked 5441 p4p, 24935 weight class) and Yaroslav Borkechev (ranked 0 p4p, 539 weight class). The key to victory for Jose Ruiz has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jose Ruiz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Yaroslav Borkechev!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Borkechev feints and as Ruiz raises his hands in defense, Borkechev changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Ruiz wants to stand up but Borkechev is controlling him.
Borkechev looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Ruiz striking off his back but it's not causing Borkechev any problems.
Ruiz wants to sweep here but Borkechev controlling him for the moment.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Ruiz manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ruiz wants to break free but Borkechev has control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Ruiz shoots in looking for a takedown. Borkechev tries to sprawl out of it but Ruiz keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Borkechev manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Well Borkechev has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
