Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tmas Panzy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Saul Taylot!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taylot lets loose with a powerful body kick. Panzy will feel that in the morning.
Taylot misses with a right hand

and Panzy counters with a nice double leg into side control. Taylot won't be happy with that.

Panzy is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Taylot has escaped the position, nice work there.

Panzy is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Taylot is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Panzy controls the position.
Taylot is looking to regain half guard here but Panzy keeps moving and retains side control.
Panzy happy to just control the position for now.

Panzy is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Taylot knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Panzy staying calm.
Taylot struggling a bit here.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Panzy is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Taylot has escaped the position, nice work there.
Panzy is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Taylot really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Panzy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
You can see the frustration on Taylot's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Panzy cracks Taylot with a big elbow.

Panzy has hold of Taylot's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Taylot tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Panzy cranks the arm and Taylot screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Taylot, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Tmas Panzy!
