Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jing Xin Yi (ranked 1462 p4p, 1420 weight class) and Chris McCocker (ranked 201 p4p, 195 weight class). Jing Xin Yi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jing Xin Yi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Chris McCocker!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Daniel Franklin and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Xin Yi misses with a double jab.
Xin Yi misses with a looping right.
Xin Yi misses with a right hand
and McCocker connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Xin Yi tries a head kick but it misses.
McCocker throws a right hand that misses
and Xin Yi cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Xin Yi looks to land a combination but McCocker avoids it well.
McCocker looks to throw the jab but Xin Yi is out of range.
McCocker throws a jab but it's blocked by Xin Yi.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Xin Yi misses with a series of wild punches.
McCocker misses with a hook. Xin Yi ducked under it nicely.
Xin Yi throws a poor cross that misses
and McCocker counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Xin Yi misses with a series of wild punches.
Xin Yi throws a looping overhand right but McCocker ducks down to avoid it.
McCocker looks to throw the jab but Xin Yi is out of range.
It looked like Xin Yi wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Xin Yi steps to the side to avoid the strikes from McCocker.
A little feinted left hand from Xin Yi on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
McCocker lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Xin Yi definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Jing Xin Yi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Xin Yi misses with a right hand
and McCocker counters with a stiff right hand.
Xin Yi moves out of range of the strikes.
Xin Yi thinks about countering with a head kick.
Xin Yi looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
McCocker might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
McCocker fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McCocker throws a jab when Xin Yi was well out of range.
McCocker shoots for a double leg takedown but Xin Yi sprawls well. He's pushed McCocker's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A cross from Xin Yi lands.
Xin Yi lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McCocker throws a right hand that misses
and Xin Yi counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Xin Yi lands a big head kick that sends McCocker tumbling to the mat! Xin Yi takes a step backwards and waves McCocker back to his feet - he wants the finish!
A jab from McCocker misses.

McCocker closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - McCocker lands in his opponent's guard.
McCocker pushes down on Xin Yi's leg and manages to get into half guard.

McCocker is looking for a kimura here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Xin Yi is looking for a sweep. McCocker is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

McCocker is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Xin Yi is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Chris McCocker!
A relieved looking Chris McCocker thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
