Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ossi Omenankukka (ranked 2917 p4p, 2996 weight class) and Patrick Nielson (ranked 348 p4p, 363 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Patrick Nielson!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Dillan Fox and Ian Loll.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nielson misses with a left hand
and Omenankukka counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Omenankukka throws out a loose jab but Nielson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Nielson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Omenankukka circles away quickly and effectively.
Nielson shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Omenankukka gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Nielson takes a swing at Omenankukka's ribcage but misses.
Nielson loads up on a big right hand but Omenankukka slips the punch.
Omenankukka scores with a jab to the jaw.
Nielson misses with a wild body shot.
An attempted straight right counter from Omenankukka misses the target.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Nielson has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Omenankukka moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Omenankukka takes a swing at Nielson's ribcage but misses.
Nielson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Omenankukka connects with a body shot that sends Nielson's belly button to the back.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nielson throws a sloppy head kick and Omenankukka moves out of range easily.
A little feinted left hand from Omenankukka on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Nielson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Omenankukka is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Omenankukka is looking to cinch up a triangle. Nielson throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Omenankukka's body to avoid the submission. Omenankukka has instead reached around Nielson's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Omenankukka arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
