The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Béliveau loads up on a big right hand but Boxaaja slips the punch.
Boxaaja with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Boxaaja misses with a hook. Béliveau ducked under it nicely.
Béliveau now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Béliveau tries to move into range but Boxaaja moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Béliveau has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Boxaaja connects with a looping right hand.
Boxaaja throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Béliveau is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
A looping hook to the body misses from Béliveau. Boxaaja does a little dance to reset his feet.

Boxaaja has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Hey Steves Fight Shack in the buildup to the fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Boxaaja closes the distance and pushes Béliveau back into the cage.
Béliveau is looking to break free of the clinch but Boxaaja has double underhooks.
Boxaaja throws a head punch that misses.

Béliveau manages to break the clinch.
Boxaaja lands a leg kick that knocks Béliveau off balance momentarily.
Boxaaja buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Boxaaja looks to score with a jab to the body but Béliveau is just out of range.
Béliveau swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Boxaaja gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Béliveau.
Béliveau lands with an uppercut that bounces Boxaaja off the cage and back into range.
Béliveau sizes up Boxaaja with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Béliveau throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A nice leg kick from Boxaaja, right into the meat of the thigh.
Boxaaja works Béliveau's body with a nice hook.

and Béliveau connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Boxaaja throws a hook but Béliveau avoids it easily.
A nice side step and Béliveau releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Boxaaja misses the jab.
Béliveau takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Boxaaja avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Boxaaja seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Boxaaja just misses with a punch to the body.
Boxaaja lands with a nice body punch.
Boxaaja throws a body punch but Béliveau moves out of range.
And Béliveau responds with a good body kick, but Boxaaja manages to step out the way in time.
Boxaaja throws out a loose jab but Béliveau uses good head movement to avoid it.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Béliveau! But no joy.

Béliveau takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Béliveau goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Boxaaja paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
The crowd cheers as Boxaaja lands an impressive looking overhand right. Béliveau doesn't seem phased though.
Béliveau takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Béliveau walks into a stiff left hand from Boxaaja.
Boxaaja throws a lazy right hand but Béliveau sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Béliveau counters with a body kick.
Béliveau takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Boxaaja looks for the body kick but Béliveau saw that one coming.
Boxaaja connects with a nice looking jab.

Boxaaja pushes Béliveau up against the cage in a clinch.

Béliveau breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Boxaaja cracks Béliveau with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
