Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Simo Halli (ranked 2081 p4p, 2094 weight class) and Danny Davis (ranked 268 p4p, 269 weight class). Simo Halli is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Davis rushes Halli and presses him up against the cage.
Halli lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Halli tries to break the clinch but Davis is controlling the position.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Halli.
Davis swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Halli throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Davis tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Halli is in Davis's guard.

Halli drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Davis manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Halli has Davis in his guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Halli is looking for a triangle but Davis pushes his legs off easily.

Halli can't keep his opponent in guard - Davis advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Davis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Halli. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Halli can't escape the position.
Halli tries to lock up and control but Davis gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Halli is trying desperately to improve position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Davis avoids the attempt from Halli to control.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Davis defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Halli.
Simo Halli is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Halli steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Davis.
Davis misses with a two punch combination.
Davis throws a jab but it's blocked by Halli.
Halli shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Davis pinned against the cage. Davis gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Despite the aggression on Davis's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Halli is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Halli is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

You get the feeling that Davis really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Halli wants to control the pace but Davis is squirming around nicely.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Davis felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Halli jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Davis manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Simo Halli overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Halli is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That was a close second round but I would say that Simo Halli will probably get the nod.

Halli feints and as Davis raises his hands in defense, Halli changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Halli is keen to just control but Davis is a slippery customer.

Halli is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Davis has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Davis!

Davis got a little sloppy there for a moment and Halli has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Davis has managed to get both his arms back between Halli's legs - danger averted.

Halli has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Davis doesn't defend quickly enough and Halli has managed to lock this one up! Can Davis escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Halli on a fantastic submission victory.
