Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Yaroslav Rurik (ranked 1792 p4p, 3368 weight class) and Elidio Fana (ranked 122 p4p, 205 weight class). Elidio Fana told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Yaroslav Rurik!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Elidio Fana!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Tarja Halkonen and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rurik looks for the body kick but Fana saw that one coming.
A nice leg kick from Rurik, right into the meat of the thigh.
Fana keeps the fight on the outside.
Rurik swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Fana counters with a two punch combo.
A head kick misses from Rurik.
Rurik with a hook.
Rurik buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Rurik connects with a right hand. Fana shakes it off.
Fana scores with a jab. Rurik acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Rurik uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Fana.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rurik looks to score with a jab to the body but Fana is just out of range.
Fana cracks a nice hook into Rurik's ribs.
Rurik delivers a nice body kick.
Rurik misses with a right hand
and Fana counters with a straight right hand.

Rurik throws an off balance right hand
and Fana counters with a straight right hand.

Nice defenses there by Rurik.
Rurik misses with a kick to the body.
Fana looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Rurik lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Fana throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rurik sees it coming and avoids it easily.
We've been told by Rurik's head coaches at Zombie MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Rurik throws a sloppy head kick and Fana moves out of range easily.
Fana throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Fana lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Rurik missing with a left hand there. Fana was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Fana looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Fana misses with a straight right.
Rurik swings widly with a right hand
and Fana connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Fana might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Fana throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
It looked like Rurik wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Rurik pushes Fana away with a front kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rurik scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rurik instigates a clinch.
Rurik tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Fana's elbow.
Fana breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Fana waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Rurik.
Rurik rushes Fana with punches - Fana moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Fana goes down! Rurik follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Yaroslav Rurik!
