PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Booger Magee (ranked 3243 p4p, 2719 weight class) and Giant Benandonner (ranked 120 p4p, 143 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Booger Magee has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Booger Magee seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Booger Magee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Giant Benandonner!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Magee clinches.
Magee lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Benandonner looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Magee throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Benandonner lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Magee manages to break the clinch.
Magee will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Magee tries a low kick but Benandonner avoids it.
Magee takes one to the side of the head.

Magee gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Magee escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Benandonner blocks a low kick nicely.
Magee throws a hook but Benandonner blocks it.
Magee throws a sloppy head kick and Benandonner moves out of range easily.
Magee definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Magee tries to bum rush Benandonner with a series of wild strikes but Benandonner uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Magee looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Benandonner lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Magee pivots, looking for a leg kick but Benandonner is out of range and Magee settles back down.
Booger Magee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Magee closes the distance but Benandonner moves to the side
and Benandonner counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Magee throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Magee throws a poor cross that misses
enabling Benandonner to counter with a crisp jab.

Magee finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Magee wants to clinch.
Benandonner comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Benandonner drops Magee with a left right combo! Benandonner follows him down to the ground into side control.

Magee is rocked!
Magee is looking to reverse the position.

Benandonner is trying to get an arm triangle but Magee is defending well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Magee is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Benandonner tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Benandonner has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Magee is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Benandonner asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Benandonner stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Benandonner lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Benandonner throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Magee sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Magee misses with a leg kick
and Benandonner cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Benandonner throws a body shot but no joy.
Benandonner avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Benandonner scores with a head kick. Magee tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Benandonner clobbers Magee with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Oh Magee is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A shot to the liver by Benandonner. Beautiful body shot.
Magee seems to have got his legs back now.

Benandonner cracks Magee with a big right hand and Magee goes down!
Magee is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Benandonner wants to stand but Magee has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Benandonner tries to free his leg and advance position but Magee is retaining full guard.

Benandonner wants to control from the top but Magee keeps moving.

Magee is working an open guard so Benandonner takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Benandonner walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Benandonner has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Magee swings away with a body shot that misses
and Benandonner counters with a nice body kick.
Magee scores with a jab. Benandonner acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

and Benandonner counters with a straight right hand.
Benandonner is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Magee had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
Benandonner throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Magee throws a leg kick
and Benandonner cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A punch combination from Magee misses.
Magee tries to score with a low kick but Benandonner moves his leg out of the way.
Magee tries to work over Benandonner's front leg with a kick but Benandonner checks it.
Magee tries to clinch there but Benandonner circles away.

Magee fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Benandonner, pushing him back against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Benandonner lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Benandonner misses with the head strike.
Magee pushes off an throws an elbow but Benandonner leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A left hand lands to the body for Magee.
Benandonner stalls.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Benandonner manages to break the clinch.
Benandonner moves out of range of the strikes.
Magee takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Magee jabs Benandonner to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Benandonner. Magee shrugs it off though.
Magee shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Magee swings widly with a right hand
and Benandonner counters with a nice uppercut.
Magee is breathing heavily.

Magee takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Benandonner throws a quick head kick that knocks Magee silly! This fight is all over! What a finish! Benandonner is up on the cage, taking in the applause from the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Giant Benandonner!
Giant Benandonner decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
